- Trouble holding attention on tasks or play activities.
- Does not listen when spoken to directly.
- Does not follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or other responsibilities.
- Has trouble organizing tasks and activities.
- Often avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to do tasks that require mental effort over a long period of time (such as schoolwork or homework).
- Often loses things necessary for tasks and activities (e.g. school materials, pencils, books, paperwork).
- Is often easily distracted
- Is often forgetful in daily activities.
Many children who come to BHNY have been diagnosed and medicated for ADHD. Our first step is to determine if your child has had the proper evaluation for ADHD, ODD, or a Learning Disability. We can provide Neuropsychological Testing to gain a clearer picture of what’s going on with your child. Or we can consider prior testing or evaluation in our treatment plan.
